Maersk Kampala – Latest box ship fire

On 28th August at around 2100 hours 6,800 TEU vessel Maersk Kampala caught fire south of Suez while en route to Europe. News says all on board are safe and accounted.  Fire started on foremost bay of the vessel and as on 30th August additional firefighters were expected.

On her export voyage Maersk Kampala called ports Jabel Ali, JNPT(Mumbai), Mundra, Salalah and   Jeddah before heading towards Suez.
